Last week the priest at the grade school I attended was in tears because none of the young people wanted to help serve at the church. How does the Catholic religion get its' young people back on the scene? One way is to start a youth group. Divide the groups into ages- young teens; older teens; young adults. Have social activities where they can get to know each other. Have a regular weekly meeting where they can discuss their faith. The Catholic church needs to draw young people back to the life of the church. Try to get young people interested in participating in the service- whether it be as altar boys/girls, ushers, . Perhaps at the regular meetings they can be encouraged to join in the service. We need to let young people feel the warmth and love of the Holy Spirit.

We've lost the ability to disagree without being disagreeable. We no longer view each other as political and philosophical opponents, but instead as mortal enemies engaged in a life or death struggle to the end. Apparently the gauntlet has been laid and we're just waiting for the first blow to be landed.

If you go in groups of 4 or 5 people do not hesitate MOVE taxi. It is cheaper and super comfortable. Regular taxis allow 4 places + driver but there are more taxis that allow up to 5 people + driver. Are well recognized because they are a hybrid car and minivan and are easily found at the taxi ranks. Just ask "Taxi per cinque".

St. Andrew's, Greystoke, is a 13th/14th-century church. Its huge bell tower looks very much like the peel tower of a castle, and that's no coincidence. During the time of the Border Reivers, the villagers used the tower as a refuge. Some splendid medieval stained glass here had a narrow escape from Cromwellian raiders in the seventeenth century. On hearing of their advance, the locals removed the glass and buried it. click , it was unearthed and re-installed in the church. St. Andrew's has two interesting sculptures. One, of the Madonna and Child, was carved with a penknife by German prisoners of war. The other, of the crucifixion, is by the modern sculptor, Josefina de Vasconcellos.
